Bangladesh approves Cumilla- Brahmanbaria upgradation

The project to convert the Cumilla (Mainamati)– Brahmanbaria (Dharkhar) National Highway into four lanes has been approved by the Bangladesh government's Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC). The Indian Line of Credit (LOC) will contribute Taka 28.10 bn of the project's total cost of Taka 71.88 bn. By June 2026, the project will be actioned by the Roads and Highways Department. The four-lane highway will improve the regional connection between Bangladesh and India. The Sylhet and Chattogram regions would become significant commercial hubs as a result of this project.
