Chandigarh to recarpet 431 km city roads

The engineering department of the Chandigarh Municipal Corporation (CMC) has allocated a budget of Rs.700 mn for recarpeting
431 km of city roads.The municipal corporation plans to finish the tender process during the monsoon season, allowing recarpeting to begin as soon as the rains stop.The civic body has prepared division-by-division estimates to cover all roads in the three divisions and road wing of the engineering department that require re-carpeting. A few parking areas, in addition to roads, also require recarpeting.
