DPIIT to monitor and implement infrastructure projects in India

With the PM Gati Shakti national master plan for multimodal connectivity, the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) will now become the nodal ministry for monitoring and implementing all infrastructure projects in the country. NITI Aayog and the finance ministry's department of economic affairs were the main superhead of all infrastructure projects till now. The master plan is expected to boost infrastructure but integrate modes of transportation. An online portal will also be launched that will integrate the existing portal and data of infrastructure ministries. It will provide real-time information and data of infrastructure projects and help in better coordination.
