Jharkhand gets $112 mn grant from ADB for water supply infra

The Indian government and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) signed a $112 mn loan to improve service delivery in four towns in Jharkhand by developing water supply infrastructure and strengthening the abilities of urban local bodies (ULBs). The project will help improve urban services in the state and ensure continuity of treated piped water supply in Ranchi, as well as the three economically and socially backward towns of Hussainabad, Jhumri Telaiya, and Medininagar. Four water treatment plants with a total capacity of 275 mn litre per day will be built to provide safe drinking water in the project towns.
