Kozhikode infra gets major boost in Kerala budget

01 Feb 2021

Kerala’s state budget this year has given prominence to infrastructure development in Kozhikode district. An allocation of Rs.7,000 mn has been proposed for the development of 10 roads in the city and suburbs under the second phase of the city road improvement scheme. However, the budget, like last year, ignores the need to widen the 8 km stretch of the Mananchira-Vellimadukunnu road. The budget has also proposed revision of the detailed project report of Kozhikode Light Metro based on the revised criteria by the Centre. A sum of Rs.120 mn has been earmarked for Kozhikode Cyberpark. Out of the total of Rs.4010 mn for major industrial development agencies, Kozhikode KSIDC will get a share of the amount.
