Gulermak-Sam India Builtwell officially opened the first 3.61 km of the 32.4 km Kanpur Metro Phase 1 project's underground Bada Chauraha Station. The rebuilt Terratec Earth Pressure Balance (EPB) machine, dubbed ‘Tatya’, was used to bore and build a section of Lucknow Metro's Line-1.
It measures 6.52 m in diameter and 120 m in length.
Gulermak-SAM began lowering its parts into the station's launch shaft at the beginning of July. In March 2021, the Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRC) had awarded Gulermak-Sam India the contract for Package KNPCC-05.
