Gurugram to use vacant urban land for development

01 Jul 2022

Municipal Corporation Gurugram (MCG) has framed a plan to utilise over 224 acre of vacant urban land to develop residential, commercial, institutional and infrastructural facilities in the city. The municipal corporation expects to generate Rs.100 bn in revenue from the project. The civic body has planned major projects, including hospitals, group housings, societies, commercial complexes, electric vehicle (EV) charging stations, women's college, rental spaces and sports facilities. MCG has recently sent a proposal to the state government to get in-principle approval. The proposal has also been sent to the councillors of 35 wards to create more citizen-centric facilities.
