Pune to pilot unique land parcel identification number project

Maharashtra has chosen Pune to direct the Unique Land Parcel Identification Number (ULPIN) project for enabling IT-based management of records. Named "Aadhaar for land", the 14-digit ULPIN strives at recognising 
every surveyed parcel of land and additionally controlling any fraud related to land. Pilots on the project have been conducted in select districts of 10 states, including Maharashtra. The other states are Bihar, Haryana, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Gujarat, Sikkim, Goa, and Karnataka. For Maharashtra, Pune was chosen for the pilot project and the unique numbers were given to land plots for the 
whole district.
