Rs.4.13 bn for Coimbatore and Trichy municipal corporations

The Tamil Nadu Government has allotted Rs.4.13 bn for underground drainage projects for the municipal corporations of Coimbatore and Trichy. Rs.1.75 bn has been allotted for Coimbatore to complete about 153 km of underground drainage system. Further, Rs.2.38 bn has been allotted for Trichy for repairing the existing underground drainage pipes in the core city areas and also setting up new systems in the added areas, under the smart city funds. Besides, `530.79 mn has also been allotted for implementing a drinking water project in Trichy.
