Dharamsala Smart City to include the merged areas

The smart city project will now be expanded to include Dharamsala's merged areas. The decision that has been approved by the House of the Dharamsala Municipal Corporation (MC). The MC had approved a budget of Rs.120 million for street repairs and streetlight installation in the merged areas. The Dharamsala municipal council was upgraded in 2015 by bringing the surrounding eight villages under the corporation's jurisdiction, increasing the population from 22,000 to around 50,000, making it eligible for the Dharamsala Smart City project allotment. The merged areas, however, had been excluded from the Smart City project so far.
