Govt allots Rs.1.81 bn to Dharamshala, Shimla under smart city goal

In the past three years, the Central Government has provided Rs.1.81 bn to Shimla and Dharamshala under smart city projects, according to State Minister of Housing and Urban (MoHUA) Affairs Suresh Bhardwaj. The minister informed the House in a written response that Shimla had received Rs.1.26 bn and Dharamsala Rs.550 mn from the Centre under the smart city scheme in the previous three years until June 30. About 117 projects totalling Rs.4.511 bn have either been completed, are in the process of being completed, or have had tenders issued for them; 73 projects worth Rs.2.16 bn are being implemented; with 30 tenders worth Rs.2.106 bn floated.
