Guwahati to get new traffic control by 2023

01 Aug 2022

The Guwahati Smart City (GSCL) will roll out an integrated traffic management system (ITMS), covering 95 junctions to ensure proper management and surveillance of traffic. The project, which costs around Rs.1 billion, is expected to be completed by 2023. In the first phase, a total of 22 junctions will be covered and the remaining in the second phase. Earlier in 2019, the Assam Police and GSCL had initiated a city surveillance project to install 4,000 cameras at a cost of `22 billion, which was also shelved.
