The Indian Railways will take renovation of over 1,000 small yet important stations under a new programme named “Amrit Bharat Station Scheme”. The first such station development was completed at Khurda junction in Odisha. The investment in each station will be in the range of Rs 100 to Rs 200 million and the works can be completed in a year or a maximum of one-and-a-half years. According to the plan, 15 stations in each of the 68 divisions will be taken up for revamp.
