Highway developers facing acute equity crunch will soon get a breather with NHAI likely to spend at least Rs 9,000 crore for the construction of two-and-half lane highways. The cabinet is likely to construct at least 3,000 km highways with this government investment. These stretches will be undertaken in EPC mode, ensuring that the projects are completed in time without any cost-overrun.
