01 Oct 2016

The Airports Authority of India (AAI) is in the process of completing the upgradation of the instrument landing system (ILS) at Devi Ahilyabai Holkar Airport in Indore. A team of AAI officials conducted a test on the system´s accuracy using a special aircraft. It is known that with this improvement, planes will be able to land at the airport even if the visibility is considerably low. Further, tests are being conducted to check the calibration of the recently installed ILS system at the airport. The ILS upgrade work is already over, and the new system will be operational once it gets clearance. And, AAI will submit its report to the Directorate General of Civic Aviation (DGCA), and the new system will become operational once it gets clearance from the DGCA.
