Orissa Government and Dhamra Port Company (DPCL), which is setting up the Dhamra port, were looking for legal options on the arbitrary extension of limits of the Kolkata Port Trust (KoPT) by the Union Government. The extension of limits of the Kolkata port will impact the economic viability and exclusivity of the Dhamra port as the vessels coming to Dhamra will pass through the Kolkata port. Meanwhile, the state government has sought the advice of the state Advocate General on the issue.
