The Samajwadi Party, which won the election in Uttar Pradesh, will soon decide on whether to build an airport in Meerut or Zevar. Earlier, the Mayawati-led state government had sent a proposal to the Centre for an international airport at Zevar near Greater Noida. The Centre had in turn set up a high powered committee to look into the proposal, but nothing has emerged on it yet.
