A technical team of seven-member of the Airports Authority of India (AAI) undertook an on-spot verification of the Sipasarubali area in the outskirts of Puri, for the proposed international airport. The team includes four officials of AAI from Delhi and three from Bhubaneswar airport. They had surveyed Sipasarubali in Puri Sadar block and examined the land map and other documents in the presence of the Sub-Collector of Puri, Bhabataran Sahu. The AAI has approved 1,500 acres of land at Sipasarubali near Girala in Brahmagiri Mouza, Puri district, after conducting a pre-feasibility study last year in June.
