APM Terminals Pipavav board okays Rs.7 bn expansion plan

APM Terminals Pipavav’s board has approved a Rs.7-bn expansion plan, which includes upgrading existing facilities to handle bigger ships and increasing the container capacity to 1.6 mn 20-foot equivalent units (TEUs). The supply chain and inland logistics are expected to significantly improve the reliability and reduce transit time going forward with the implementation of the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC). This will improve overall cargo volume for imports and exports.
