Bangladesh is setting up seven land ports with the northeastern part of India’s seven sisters for good land connectivity. At least seven land ports are being established with Assam, Tripura, and Meghalaya. Bangladesh already has five land ports with Tripura, Meghalaya, and Assam. Among them, land ports of Nakugaon and Tamabil join Bangladesh with Meghalaya; land port of Sonahat joins with Dhubri in Assam, and land ports of Akhaura and Bibirbazar join Bangladesh with Tripura. As per the Bangladesh Land Port Authority (BLPA) officials, the upcoming ports with India will increase trade, commerce, and connectivity with seven sisters states.
