Bengaluru metro phase II-A, phase II-B get MPC clearance

Bengaluru Metro’s Phase II- A (Central Silk Board to KR Puram) and Phase II- B (KR Puram to the Kempegowda International Airport), with a total distance of 58.19 km, gets a nod from The Bengaluru Metropolitan Planning Committee (MPC). The estimated cost of both the projects combined is Rs 147.881 billion. Bengaluru’s total metro rail network will be 172 km long post the completion of these two lines. Government of India and Government of Karnataka Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (BMRCL) JV aims to raise Rs 8.5 billion through the station naming and access rights to firms and Rs 8 billion from monetisation of assets at the airport.
