After inaugurating Pune metro rail in Maharashtra, PM Narendra Modi said that the central government is focusing on improving mass transportation, including metro rail connectivity.
The overall cost of the Pune metro project is over Rs 11,400 crore. He said that urbanisation is taking place at a fast pace across the country. The country's urban population will cross the 60 crore mark by 2030.The increasing population brings a lot of opportunities but challenges too. Moreover, the government is giving more importance to improving mass transportation and metro rail connectivity across all cities.
