The Central Railway has decided to build new FOBs to replace eight old ones along its suburban section. These include the well-known 'Z' FOB in Matunga. A tender for the dismantling and reconstruction of these FOBs was issued, and it will be opened in the second week of September. According to the plan, the new FOB will be ready within two years of the tendering process being completed. The total cost of dismantling and rebuilding these FOBs is estimated to be around Rs.4.05 billion.
