Centre gives nod for Hyderabad Ring Road

01 Mar 2021

The Central Government has given its approval for the Regional Ring Road (RRR) project in Hyderabad. The Centre has also sanctioned a four-lane road between Khammam and Kodad. The proposed RRR is expected to ease traffic on the Benguluru, Vijayawada, Mumbai and Nagpur National Highways as the traffic will be diverted to the RRR. The Telangana Rashtra Samithi MPs have been making representations to the Central Government seeking permission for Regional Ring Road for the last several years. As per the plan, the RRR would connect Sangareddy, Gajwel, Choutuppal, Mal, Kadthal, Shadnagar, Chevella and Kandi. Its length will be 338 km and width will be 500 feet. The Centre would bear the cost of the project.
