Construction work on Chennai metro-rail Phase-2 to begin soon

The construction work of the Phase-2 metro-rail network will start in Chennai, and experts have begun surveying buildings and structures located on some of the city’s busiest localities. Experts are surveying and taking note of buildings in and around Koyambedu, Virugambakkam and Vadapalani. The construction sites on Old Mahabalipuram Road (OMR) and some southern suburban localities are not well-connected by public transport and are getting prepared for construction as surveys complete. The Phase-2 metro rail project of 118.9 km might be completed by 2025. The building survey was completed in and around Taramani, Sholinganallur and Perumbakkam, and the survey was completed on the Koyambedu market road. These areas are now being prepared for construction.
