In the Northeast, the Central Government will construct the country's first integrated multimodal rail and road transport route. Under the Brahmaputra river, the project will construct two road tube tunnels and one rail tube tunnel. The project will be completed jointly by Indian Railways, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, and the Ministry of Defense (Border Roads Organisation) at a cost of `77 bn. A new railway line between Rangpara and Tawang, measuring 121.33 km, will also be built. Tawang, Senga, Rupa, Bhalukpong, and Rangpara will be served by this new train line. Between Dhalaibil and Jakhlabandh, and Dekragaon and Jamugurihar, a new railway line will be built.
