Union Minister of Steel Ram Chandra Prasad Singh inaugurated the first-ever six-lane highway road made by utilising Steel Slag at Surat in the state of Gujarat to link the port with the city. The road is built with 100% use of steel processed slag and is a real example to convert waste into wealth and improve the sustainability of steel plants. The use of such material in the construction of roads will not only increase the durability but also reduce the cost of construction as these slag-based materials have better properties than natural aggregates.
