India, ADB ink $484 mn loan to improve road infra in Tamil Nadu

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Indian Government have signed a $484-mn loan to improve transportation connectivity and facilitate industrial development in Tamil Nadu's Chennai-Kanyakuma Industrial Corridor (CKIC). CKIC is a part of India's East Coast Economic Corridor (ECEC), which runs from West Bengal to Tamil Nadu and connects India to the South, Southeast, and East Asian manufacturing networks. ADB is India's primary development partner in ECEC. The project emphasises sustainability, climate change resilience, and road safety elements, in keeping with ADB's corporate Strategy 2030.
