Mathura-Vrindavanmetre gauge line to be converted into heritage line

A metre gauge line connecting Mathura and Vrindavan in Uttar Pradesh will be converted into a heritage line by the Indian Railways. Once the work is completed, traffic on the route to the national capital is expected to reduce. While development work on the fourth line between Palwal and Mathura will be completed this year, development work on the third line between Mathura-Keetham will be completed next year, according to the the General Manager of North Central Railways. Meanwhile, Ashwini Vaishnaw, the Minister of Railways, inspected rail tracks and ongoing work on the Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC) and other railway projects in Gujarat and Rajasthan.
