The executing authority for the
underground Metro 3 corridor
(Colaba-Bandra-Seepz) has set
a June 2023 deadline for
bringing all nine rakes required
to begin Phase I services (Aarey-
BKC). The first prototype train is
currently undergoing "initial
design-proving" testing by
Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation
(MMRCL). Ashwini Bhide,
Managing Director of MMRCL,
stated that a second rake will
arrive by the end of November.
The first nine trains would arrive
by June 2023.
