North Central Railway floats tender for Howrah-Delhi works

North Central Railway has floated a tender for works on New Delhi-Howrah route. The scope of work involves design, supply, erection, testing and commissioning (SETC) of 132/2x25 kV traction subs-station along with SP/SSPs between Ghaziabad-Deen Dayal Upadhyay in Uttar Pradesh in connection with raising of speed of trains to 160-km per hour/200 km per hour on the existing New Delhi-Howrah route to achieve a travel time of 12 hours between Delhi to Howrah. The work is to be completed in 24 months at a cost of `6.145 bn.
