The Jayaprakash Narayan International Airport is likely to get lands for the installation of a Doppler VHF Omni Directional Range (DVOR) and the construction of an isolation bay soon. While a DVOR is a navigational system that helps an aircraft find its route, an isolation bay is a special parking lot created for an aircraft facing an exigency like hijack or bomb threat. Airports Authority of India (AAI) has already sent a proposal to the state government seeking lands for a DVOR and an isolation bay. The airport will require a 4.5 acre land on the southern side of its runway for the DVOR and a 12 acre land for the isolation bay.
