RLDA to redevelop Panipat railway station

The Rail Land Development Authority will undertake the redevelopment of the Panipat Railway Station of Northern Railway. The RFQ or RFP for the project is expected to be floated in the next six months in which all the parameters for the redevelopment will be made available to the developers. The redevelopment entails station development including a new station building on the east side, a second entry on Model Town, air concourse over the tracks for handling peak hour passenger traffic, and improved road connectivity. The entire project is to be redeveloped in Public-Private Partnership (PPP) mode. Panipat Junction is a major junction in the Delhi-NCR. area and serves the industrial town of Panipat.
