Road planned from Kurangani to Top Station to cut travel time for tourists

Highways Department engineers have embarked upon a project to step up tourism from Bodi to Top Station in Tamil Nadu by saving tourists at least 75-km of road travel. At present, tourists visiting Top Station from Theni have to drive 105-km through Munnar in Kerala. With the planned new road spanning 14-km from Kurangani, tourists could reach Top Station in less than 90 minutes. The project would cost Rs.500 mn in total. The state government has to earmark funds for the project, following which the tender process should be in place by January 2021.
