TN Government approves construction of road bridge near Melmaruvathur

The Tamil Nadu Government has approved construction of road over-bridge (RoB) near Melmaruvathur in Chengalpet district to help avoid accidents. The RoB will replace a railway level crossing on the Cheyyur-Polur Road (State Highway 115) between Acharapakkam and Pakkam villages. The level crossing is located just 263 m from the busy National Highway 45, which connects Chennai with Trichy. The order issued by the state allows acquisition of 7,604 sq m of land. Construction will take place under the Railway Works Programme on a cost sharing basis with Southern Railway.
