The Rajasthan government alloted 864.6 ha mining area for SAIL and 1,043 ha for Rashtriya Ispat Nigam (RINL) in Bhilwara after both the companies sought iron ore mining rights. But, the proposal to grant the rights is sent to the Union government for its approval. The two PSUs are likely to invest around Rs 4,000 crore in Bhilwara for creating 5 mn tonne mechanised iron ore mining capacity at Bhilwara.
