Adani Group is planning to set up a 1,000 MW solar plant at Kamuthi in Ramanathapuram. According to an estimate, production of 1 MW of solar power requires 5 acre, which makes it 5,000 acre for the proposed plant. The capital cost of solar photovoltaic plant is estimated at Rs 7 crore per MW.
