Diesel Power

The 16 valve diesel engine recently launched by JCB offers immense fuel efficiency to its customers.

JCB India, one of the largest manufacturers of construction equipment in the country, launched its own domestically built, world class, fuel efficient, state-of-the-art, BSIII, 16 valve diesel engine to power its equipment range progressively.

Energy-efficient features

These JCB engines are available in the range of 76 hp to 150 hp, and are naturally aspirated or turbocharged. They are pressurised by a high pressure rotary pump. Their block, bedplate design and crankshaft dimensions are similar to the JCB Dieselmax engine. The cold side has features like a 14.5 psi cooling system for increased cooling efficiency, fan belt auto adjuster, 6,000 hours of belt life, oil change period and engine filter change period of 500 hours each reducing maintenance cost, main filter change period of 1000 hrs, and a state-of-the-art Delphi fuel system.

Features on the hot side include a heavy duty cylinder block specially designed for off highway applications, aluminum alloy pistons for optimised cooling, centralised location of fuel injectors for even burning of fuel, four cylinders, sixteen valves, deep bed plate design for improved stiffness, low noise and improved sealing. The engine can be put on full load directly with no running in required.

Value for money

High fuel efficiency and low maintenance cost of these engines enable them to give a better rate of return to customers. These machines have environment friendly engines with low noise and vibrations that ensure longer engine life. Further, they have a single point support for warranty.

Vipin Sondhi, MD and CEO, JCB India says, “These latest technology engines will offer immense fuel efficiency to our customers. The domestic production of JCB engines will enable us to provide the best quality product. We will immediately start powering our backhoe, the 3DX, with JCB engines, and many other models in our range will follow.

India plays a vital role in JCB's global expansion plans, and this development marks another step towards JCB's rowth in India.”

Equipment pioneer

JCB today is the market leader in the construction equipment sector in India with products that include backhoe loaders, excavators, compaction equipment, wheeled loading shovel, liftall and skid steer loaders. JCB has created history in India by selling its 1,00,001st machine recently.

It is the fastest growing company in the Indian earthmoving and construction equipment industry. The company is a pioneer in the industry and has been recording excellent growth rates. In addition to this, JCB has already invested in some of
the largest and best parts, warehouse and training centres. In India, JCB engines have already successfully clocked over 50,000 hours of rigorous testing in the most adverse climatic and geographical conditions across various models. Over 600 machines in different variants are already working in India across myriad applications.
