OPTCL to spend Rs 3,300 cr on power transmission
The Orissa Power Transmission Corporation (OPTCL) has firmed up plans to invest Rs 3,300 crore to develop power transmission facilities in the state by 2013-14. OPTCL will invest the amount to upgrade the existing transmission network, replace the substations and also to set up new substations along with associated lines.
The company will be setting up nearly 50 new grid substations along with associated lines in the state by 2013-14. Of these, 30 are expected to be set up in locations which are economically unviable. OPTCL has recently commissioned a 400/220 KV grid sub-station at Mendhasal.
