It is a matter of great pride for the people of Uttar Pradesh, as it becomes the first state to have an expressway stretching across its entire length. This huge project was finished by the Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA) under the leadership of its CEO, Awanish Awasthi. The 341-km Purvanchal Expressway at Karwal Kheri in Sultanpur district was recently inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The expressway will reduce the travel time between Lucknow to Buxar in Bihar from seven hours to nearly four hours. Once it is opened to the public, the travel time from Lucknow to Ghazipur will be reduced from 6 hours to 3.5 hours. “This expressway will act as backbone of Uttar Pradesh,” said Awasthi.
