With the Uttar Pradesh Government’s project to develop Ayodhya as a major tourist destination, Indian Railways is re-developing the holy town’s railway station to cater to 0.1 mn passengers per day. The station will be developed in two phases; the first phase is expected to be completed by September and will include a two-storey building, mela shed, circulating area, two foot bridges, dormitory, sick rooms, escalators, elevator, food court, air-conditioned retiring room, LED billboards, furnished quarters of railway staff and other facilities.
