Wirtgen machines help resurface Germany´s A5
A 2.3-km stretch of the AF near Karlsruhe, one of the most heavily travelled highways in Germany, was resurfaced by general contractors Bickhardt Bau AG.
This was done using a mix of concrete and asphalt, which has proven to be structurally more viable as against surfacing highways exclusively with just concrete or asphalt. A variety of Wirtgen Group machines were deployed for the purpose: A tractor-towed stabilizer from Wirtgen paired with a compactor from Hamm, slipform and asphalt pavers, and tandem rollers.
