Fastest Growing Construction Companies: Pratibha Industries

Fifty projects in 7 years! There seems to be no stopping Pratibha Industries as it steamrolls ahead to success. Ending the year with a bang and flaunting a balance order book of over Rs 6,500 crore this company is poised for growth and glory.

Established in 1982, Pratibha Industries initially focused on designing pre-cast products and gradually forayed into civil construction and infrastructure development in 1992. Since then the flagship company of Pratibha Group has been engaged in design, engineering and execution as well as construction of complex and integrated water transmission and distribution projects, water treatment plants, elevated and underground reservoirs, and mass housing projects. It is also involved in commercial complexes, pre-cast design and construction, road construction and real estate. The company secured over 50 projects in the last seven years.

The company closed the year 2011-12 with a balance order book of over Rs 6,500 crore. In January 2012, the firm secured orders worth Rs 772 crore in building and water management divisions. This includes a Rs 153 crore order from Rustomjee Realty for the civil and structural work of residential buildings located at Upper Juhu, Mumbai. It also includes a Rs 136 crore order from Tata Housing Development Company, for its prestigious project ‘Tata Amantra’. This involves construction of 23 buildings at Kalyan, near Mumbai, with a total built up area of approximately 30 lakh square feet.

In the water management division, the company received two cash contracts worth Rs 403 crore and Rs 80 crore from Gujarat Water Infrastructure and Dhaka Water Supply and Sewerage Authority in Bangladesh respectively. The Bangladesh contract is the second international order bagged by the company.

The company’s standalone sales turnover rose nearly 28 per cent to Rs 1,503.44 crore in 2011-12 from Rs 1,175.13 crore in the previous year. Its standalone net profit rose to Rs 83.24 crore from Rs 71.43 crore in 2010-11.
