Professor Atul Tandan, Chairman, ASAPP Media Information Group passed away at the age of 67 at London Airport due to a cardiac arrest on March 1. Professor Atul Tandan, also known as PAT, was the brain child behind ASAPP Media´s flagship magazine, CONSTRUCTION WORLD. Associated with the company since its inception, Professor Tandan lent his judgement and analysis towards the success story at ASAPP. A human par excellence, his simplicity and virtue was striking, leaving an indelible mark on anyone who came across the visionary. In a 44-year long illustrious career, the IIT-Mumbai and IIM-Ahmedabad alumnus worked at some of the biggest companies like Hindustan Lever Ltd, Cadbury (India) Ltd, Bajaj Electricals Ltd, JL Morison (India) Ltd and was the Former Director of Mudra Institute of Communications, Ahmedabad. He was associated with management education since 1984 and taught at several institutes in India, UK, France and Sri Lanka. In his younger days, Professor Tandan modelled for the famous Lipton Tea Tigercampaign and held interest in theatre, tennis and squash. He was actively involved in community development and women´s education. Although the grief felt over his loss cannot be fully expressed, ASAPP Media will miss the lively personality of Professor Tandan, the pride he took in sharing ASAPP´s achievements and his unique charm.
