West Bengal seeks 40 per cent grant

The West Bengal Government has sought 40 per cent grant for Turga pumped storage hydel power project at Purulia under clean energy fund.West Bengal State Electricity Corporation already operates one pump storage hydel project in Purulia. Additionally, West Bengal is seeking green energy fund to build two pump storage hydel power plants in Purulia-Turga (1,000 MW) and Bandhu (900 MW). The state is also planning to set up a 1,200 MW solar power plant to support these two hydel power plants. The combined project cost is Rs 17,000 crore.
