The Birsa Munda International Hockey Stadium in Rourkela is the world’s largest hockey stadium. The new 20,846-seat stadium has been constructed in a record 15 months meeting all international specifications. To ensure efficiency and timely delivery, the project makes use of structural steel of 4,000 metric tonne, which includes 50,050 elements and over 100,000 bolts. Built across 50 acre, the stadium has one main playing field, a practice field, practice and fitness centres with state-of-the-art player change rooms, a hydrotherapy centre, steam rooms, a sauna and more.
