Rs 25,000-cr plan for Hyderbabad development

A Rs 25000-crore plan was getting ready to take up road-laying works, underground drainage and other facilities, Municipal Administration & Urban Development Minister KT Rama Rao has reportedly said. Further, he has vowed to cleanse up the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) thoroughly to cater to the needs of the people and provide basic amenities.

Top priority will be given to white top the roads in the city and to address the underground drainage problems. JP Group is known to have come forward for restoration of the roads with quality and standards, and works will begin at Nagarjuna Circle and KCP Junction. It has also been deicided to remove the division system of major roads under the GHMC’s purview, according to reports.

Besides decentralisation of powers at the circle level, it has been decided to offer the best services by increasing the number of circles to 30 from 24. The minister reportedly also felt that need for providing better amenities to the citizens of the twin cities. Referring to reorganisation of districts, he reportedly added that the government was committed to increase their number.
