The Central Public Works Department (CPWD) has reportedly offered the Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) administration support in developing economical and quality infrastructure in the upcoming Union Territories of J&K and Leh which will be formed on October 31.
A Parliamentary panel has asked the Central Public Works Department (CPWD) to look into the matter of encroachment of government land. It expressed alarm that over 3.10 lakh sq m of government land. It asked the CPWD to fix responsibility on the officials concerned to do the needful to prevent encroachment of government land.
In Gujarat, to help forces tackle the difficult terrain of Sir Creek, the Central Public Works Department (CPWD) has agreed to build a 10-km stretch of road on marshy land. It will connect border post (BP) number 1175 to 1170. Though there are motorable roads to BP 1175, there is no connectivity between BP 1175 and BP 1131. The distance is 70 km and the area remains unmanned.
