The Union Government has categorically stated that although it is willing to provide protection to the domestic pipe manufacturers against unfair trade practices, the industry must also act responsibly, a top Steel Ministry official reportedly said at an ASSOCHAM event held in New Delhi.
State-owned Coal India, gas utility GAIL and fertiliser majors RCF and FCIL will form a JV for revival of Talcher urea plant in Odisha. A consortium of RCF, GAIL, CIL and Fertiliser Corporation of India had agreed to invest Rs 8,000 crore for the revival of this urea plant with a production capacity of 1.2 mtpa.
The new government has granted environment clearance to five projects. The latest reports show that a total of 394 projects are still awaiting approvals from the ministry of environment, forests and climate change.
