Gujarat has signed 16 MoUs with Israel on issues pertaining to agriculture, water management, start-up innovation and smart city. For the formulation and execution of these MoUs, a high power committee has been set up.
Sany Group recently signed an MoU with the Gujarat Government to invest a staggering $2 bn over the next five years in five different projects, including development of a 1,000 MW wind energy project, another 1,000 MW of wind-plus-solar power generation project, setting-up facility to manufacture wind turbines, developing one small size smart city and setting-up a factory to produce pre-cast concrete for the mass housing projects and other real estate projects.
The Gujarat Government has recently inaugurated the Rs 6.5 crore Kazan Gundo bandh waterfront project, developed with the intention of preventing infiltration of saline water in the farm lands. The project, admeasuring 440 hectare, belongs to a section of farmers from Parsem.
The Gujarat Government has floated a Slum Redevelopment Premium Fund (SRPF) with an initial corpus of Rs 700 crore. This fund from the Central and state government's grants will be exclusively for funding affordable housing projects across the state.
